Works with Elders Who Have Cardiovascular Conditions
Metabolic equivalents (MET) are defined as the caloric consumption of an active individual compared with the resting basal metabolic rate at rest. Once elders are able to tolerate increased MET activities at greater than 3.5 METs with safe and appropriate HR, BP, and ECG responses, they are ready to move into phase III of rehabilitation to elicit cardiorespiratory training adaptations while assisting elders in making necessary lifestyle changes.
All of Body Charger cardio equipment are with METs console feedback that can provide elders with the education and techniques necessary to maintain their new lifestyles allows them to be more successful at self-monitoring.
